Looking to jump-start your career while exploring Europe this summer? Look no further than the Forum-Nexus Summer Study Abroad Internship Program. This program offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for college students to gain valuable work experience in fields like Social Media, Arts, Communication, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Media and others, all while earning college credits.

An internship is an applied academic experience conducted under faculty supervision. We provide students with an opportunity to work for Forum-Nexus Study Abroad and earn 3 credits for their experience. The internship involves 150 hours and is completed before, during, and after the summer program.

Internships Offered in Summer 2024

Designed for creative minds with a passion for arts and graphic design, this internship centers on brand identity, website design, social media, and brand image. As an Arts & Graphic Design Intern, you'll tackle projects involving brand guidelines, website design proposals, social media visuals, and overall brand image assessments. Collaborate with the Forum-Nexus team to explore international design trends, sharpen your skills, and create a diverse portfolio.
The Communication & Public Relations Internship offers students looking to learn more about general communication studies, public relations, or a specific concentration within the field of communication, the opportunity to gain experience creating, managing, and coordinating communications between Forum-Nexus staff and students. The Communication & Public Relations Intern will create, develop, and share various communications materials, such as press releases, daily schedule notices, social media posts, and communications with partner universities and organizations. Tailored for students fascinated by web design and development, this internship offers practical experience in website coding, design, and optimization. As a Web Design & Development Intern, you'll team up with the Forum-Nexus staff to enhance website functionality, user experience, and overall design. Discover international web design trends and best practices while refining your technical skills and contributing to the program's digital presence.
Perfect for environmentally conscious students, this internship delves into sustainability, green architecture, and eco-friendly practices in various countries. As an Eco-conscious Travel & Green Architecture Intern, you'll investigate local initiatives, carbon footprints, green designs, and sustainability measures. You'll attend related events and work with the Forum-Nexus team to promote sustainable practices within the program, gaining a deeper understanding of global environmental issues and advocating for eco-friendly solutions.
Designed for students interested in hospitality management, tourism, or event planning, this internship provides students with the opportunity to observe hotel environments, travel and tourism advertising and marketing, cultural hospitality norms, and event management in several different countries. As part of their internship, the Forum-Nexus Hospitality, Tourism, & Event Planning Intern will be responsible for reporting on trends and behaviors that they observe in each country. Students will have the opportunity to assist the Forum-Nexus program in hotel check-in/check-out procedures, events such as the opening ceremony/orientation and farewell ceremony, celebrating student birthdays, planning and coordinating events, and other applicable program-related tasks and activities. The Management and Operations Internship with Forum-Nexus is ideal for students with an interest in learning more about business, management, logistics, operations, or human resources in an international setting. Throughout the program, the Management and Operations Intern will have the opportunity to learn about and assist with the day-to-day operations of the program, including moving from the hotel to the university to a professional visit, or as we travel from city to city. Students taking this internship course will develop their communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills along with their understanding of management processes, procedures, and operational strategies. Designed for students interested in gaining experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, or general communications, the Forum-Nexus Marketing & Advertising Internship provides an inside look at the marketing campaigns, strategies, and tactics of the educational travel industry as well as in each country visited. During the program, students in this internship course will assist with Forum-Nexus communications to current students as well as prospective students, involving social media, digital marketing, and traditional advertising channels. The Marketing & Advertising Intern will gain experience and insight first-hand while traveling, analyzing marketing campaigns and creating promotional materials. Download Syllabus
The Social Media & Digital Marketing Internship with Forum-Nexus offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in creating and managing social media campaigns, digital marketing strategies, and online advertising efforts in the context of educational travel. This internship is perfect for students interested in marketing, advertising, or communications, with a specific focus on social media platforms and digital marketing channels. The Social Media & Digital Marketing Intern will be responsible for creating engaging content for various social media platforms, assisting in email marketing campaigns, analyzing web traffic and conversion data, and developing strategies to increase brand awareness and reach among current and prospective students.
Ideal for media, photography, and video production majors, or students with an interest in gaining media, photo, or video experience, the Forum-Nexus Media, Photography & Videography Internship offers students the opportunity to develop their skills in photography, videography, and media production while creating exceptional material for their portfolio. The Media, Photography & Videography Intern will be responsible for capturing photos and videos of Forum-Nexus activities and visits, as well as aiding in the production of testimonial videos, promotional materials, and social media content towards the end of the program. Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for a Forum-Nexus Internship in Europe, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be accepted into one of our summer programs, in the main session (not an intensive session)
  • Be currently enrolled at a college or university
  • Maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) equivalent to 2.8 or higher

  • Transcript (submitted via email)

*Your letter of recommendation should come from a professor, coach, advisor, supervisor, or colleague. They must email the letter directly to admissions@forum-nexus.com on your behalf.

When all of the above required Internship application materials have been submitted, a Forum-Nexus staff member will reach out to you to schedule a video interview via Skype or Google Hangout.

After your interview has taken place, you will be notified as to whether or not you have been accepted as an intern within about ten days.
