Forum-Nexus information regarding the current outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

Message from the Director

My name is Dr. Hugo Hervitz and I am the Executive Director of Forum-Nexus Programs. As reports and information continue to circulate in the news regarding the Coronavirus, I wanted to take this opportunity to address any and all concerns regarding our multi-country study abroad program this summer.

Myself along with our faculty and staff team have been carefully reviewing the information about the Coronavirus as it continues to become available. As we continue to monitor the spread of the Coronavirus, we observe that the number of cases continues to increase both in the U.S. and in Europe. However, we remain optimistic that by July when our program takes place, regular travel to and throughout Europe will be going back to normal.

That said, we cannot predict how the situation will evolve in each country and we will continue to be responsive to new updates and information. Being that our program is multi-country and multi-city, we maintain the flexibility to alter our itinerary to adapt to the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and the U.S. Department of State regarding safe countries and cities to visit. We may make changes to our itinerary over the next two months as the situation progresses. Fortunately, Europe offers so many diverse and exciting countries to visit, and our program will always maintain the best quality of classes, professional and cultural visits, and opportunities to learn and explore.

We plan to make a final determination regarding our program and our final itinerary by May 15th, and will communicate this information via email to enrolled students, and via our website on or before this date. We feel that it is important to take the necessary time to evaluate the situation as it progresses.

Given the current situation with the Coronavirus, we are also extending our withdrawal policy to allow for any students to receive a full refund through June 1, 2020. Any and all payments will remain fully refundable through this date.

My recommendation to you at this time is to remain well informed about the situation, utilizing resources such as the following:

We encourage interested students to complete an application, and to reach out to us for specific information about their selected program session. Our application form is free to complete, and any and all payments made to Forum-Nexus remain refundable through June 1st.

If you have any questions regarding all of this please do not hesitate to contact us. I'm looking forward to celebrating our 30th anniversary of multi-country programs in Europe with a great itinerary, an outstanding group of highly motivated students, and in a safe environment!

Best regards,

Hugo M. Hervitz, Ph.D.
